EA211's engine oil pressure sensor is bolted on the intake side, near the toothed belt inside the cylinder head. Function of the engine oil pressure sensor: The engine oil pressure sensor is a crucial device for monitoring the oil pressure in a vehicle's engine. The detected data helps control normal engine operation. When insufficient oil pressure is detected, it triggers an alarm signal, illuminating the oil warning light on the dashboard. Common causes of low oil pressure alarms include: malfunctioning oil pressure switch, insufficient oil level, clogged oil pump screen, or damaged oil pump. Working principle of the engine oil pressure sensor: The oil pressure sensor is installed on the engine's main oil gallery. During engine operation, the pressure measurement device detects oil pressure and converts the pressure signal into an electrical signal sent to the signal processing circuit. After voltage and current amplification, the amplified pressure signal is transmitted via signal wires to the oil pressure gauge, altering the current ratio between two internal coils to display engine oil pressure. The amplified pressure signal is also compared with a preset alarm voltage in the alarm circuit. When pressure falls below the alarm threshold, the circuit outputs an alarm signal, activating the warning light through the alarm line.
