Where is the diagnostic connector located on the Citroen C4L?

The diagnostic connector of the Citroen C4L is located in front of the gear shift lever, near the USB port and cigarette lighter. You can feel a small hole by touching it. Use your finger to pull it open, and you will find the OBD interface inside. Below is an introduction to the function of the car diagnostic interface. Introduction to the car diagnostic interface: The car diagnostic interface, also known as the OBD interface, is an electrical socket of the On-Board Diagnostics system. It should be connected when the power is off. The car diagnostic interface has 16 pins, each representing a different function. Function of the car diagnostic interface: It continuously monitors the faults of components and systems to ensure that the vehicle's emissions do not exceed the requirements of OBD regulations throughout its lifespan. When an emission-related fault is detected, the OBD system can alert the driver using the MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp) on the dashboard.
When I first drove the Citroën C4L, I also looked for this port. It's located just below the steering wheel on the left side. If you look down under the dashboard, right above your knees, you'll find it. It's a black 16-pin OBD port with a dust cover clipped on—just flip it open to see. The placement is quite thoughtful; mechanics don’t need to bend over to plug in the diagnostic tool. Be careful not to splash water into it when washing the car—last time I nearly caused a short circuit by accident. By the way, you can use this port to read fault codes and reset the maintenance light. If you buy a cheap OBD cable (just tens of dollars) and connect it to a phone app, you can even monitor real-time fuel consumption.
Many C4L models have been repaired, with the computer interface uniformly located right where the driver's left knee faces, behind the plastic panel at the lower edge of the steering column. Squat down and look up for a black square port, about the size of a bank card. The position remains largely unchanged between older and newer models, but post-2016 versions feature a snap-on cover for easier access. Remember to turn off the engine before connecting diagnostic equipment to avoid blowing a fuse. As a side note, avoid tapping power here for dashcam installations, as it may trigger false fault codes in the system.
