Where is the camshaft sensor located on the Dongfeng Fengguang 330?

The camshaft position sensor is located at the rear end of the camshaft, with a two-wire plug connected to it. Many modern vehicles feature dual overhead camshafts, which means there are two camshaft position sensors. The function and structure of the camshaft position sensor are as follows: Function of the camshaft position sensor: The primary role of the camshaft position sensor is to detect the position and angle of the camshaft, thereby determining the top dead center position of the first cylinder piston during compression. During engine startup, the engine ECU uses signals from both the camshaft position sensor and the crankshaft position sensor to identify the position and stroke of each cylinder piston, enabling precise control over fuel injection sequence and ignition timing. Structure of the camshaft position sensor: The photoelectric-type crankshaft and camshaft position sensor produced by Nissan is an improved version of the distributor. It mainly consists of a signal disc (signal rotor), signal generator, distributor, sensor housing, and wiring harness connector.
I've seen quite a few Fengguang 330 vehicles at the repair shop. The camshaft sensor of this car is usually installed next to that black cover on top of the engine, which is the cylinder head cover area. As for the location, it's on the front half of the engine near the pulley. If you open the engine hood, first locate the intake manifold, and the sensor is right below it. It looks like a small silver cylinder with an electrical connector attached. This part is typically secured with a small bolt, and the position isn't too tricky, but for better visibility, it's best to remove the engine's upper cover. From my previous repair experience, the 1.5L engine models mostly have it on the left front side of the engine. Just look carefully there, and a special reminder: never pull the connector forcibly—first press down the clip on the connector and then gently pry it open.
