The cabin air filter of Dongfeng Fengxing S500 is located under the front windshield, covered by a drainage trough. To replace the filter, first open the engine hood and remove the clips securing the drainage trough. After dismantling the trough, the cabin air filter will be visible. The cabin air filter can absorb moisture, soot, ozone, odors, carbon oxides, SO2, CO2, and other substances from the air, preventing the car windows from fogging up and ensuring clear visibility for the driver, thereby enhancing driving safety. The Dongfeng Fengxing S500 is a versatile 7-seater family MPV with dimensions of 4620mm in length, 1810mm in width, and 1720mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2750mm. The Fengxing S500 is equipped with features such as the Bosch 9.1 version ESP system, a rearview camera, as well as a leather multifunction steering wheel and a rear floor-mounted independent air conditioning system.
Last time I replaced the air conditioning filter on my Dongfeng Fengxing S500 myself, which is located behind the glove compartment on the passenger side. First, empty the glove compartment and pull it upwards firmly to remove it. Behind it, you'll see a long rectangular plastic cover. Unclip the fasteners and lift the cover to find the filter inserted at the entrance of the ventilation duct. Remember to install the new filter with the arrow pointing in the direction of airflow to avoid putting it in backward. Generally, it should be replaced every year or after driving 10,000 kilometers, otherwise, you'll notice a dusty smell when using the AC. Doing it yourself is super easy—just buy an activated carbon filter for about 30 RMB on Taobao, and it takes only ten minutes to replace. If it feels like too much hassle, you can always ask the mechanic to replace it during routine maintenance.
