The cabin air filter in the Phaeton is located under the hood, near the windshield. To replace it, remove the plastic casing covering the filter, install the new filter, and then reattach the casing. The Phaeton is an imported large luxury sedan under the Volkswagen brand. In terms of body dimensions, it measures 5197 mm in length, 1903 mm in width, and 1450 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3001 mm. Regarding powertrain, the Phaeton is equipped with six different engines in total. The top-tier model features a 6.0-liter W12 naturally aspirated engine, delivering 450 horsepower and a maximum torque of 560 Nm. The engine reaches its peak power at 6050 rpm, incorporates direct fuel injection technology, and utilizes an aluminum alloy cylinder head and block.
I regularly maintain my Phaeton, and the location of the cabin air filter is behind the glove compartment on the passenger side. You need to remove the entire glove compartment to access it. Remember, the glove compartment is usually secured by several clips—just press them gently to release, and avoid pulling hard to prevent damaging the parts. This design is quite clever. After replacing the filter, the air from the AC becomes much cleaner, especially when driving in cities with poor air quality—it feels refreshing to breathe. I check it every 12,000 kilometers or so. Excessive dust buildup not only affects cooling but can also breed mold, leading to unpleasant odors. If you're handy, you can easily do it yourself. When choosing a filter, prioritize OEM parts—they're durable and cost-effective.
