The cabin air filter in the old Beijing Hyundai Sonata is located behind the glove compartment on the passenger side. Below are the steps to replace the cabin air filter in the old Sonata model: 1. Open the glove compartment on the passenger side and press the button at the top to remove the glove compartment. 2. After removing the glove compartment, you will see the cabin air filter. Use a screwdriver to pry open the clips of the cabin air filter and then remove it. 3. After removing the old cabin air filter, install the new one with the white side facing down and the black side facing up. 4. Once the new cabin air filter is installed, reattach the glove compartment in the reverse order of removal. Below are the functions of the cabin air filter: 1. Ensures the filter fits tightly against the housing, preventing unfiltered air from entering the cabin. 2. Separates solid impurities such as dust, pollen, and abrasive particles from the air. 3. Adsorbs moisture, soot, ozone, odors, carbon oxides, SO2, CO2, etc., from the air, providing strong and long-lasting moisture adsorption. 4. Prevents the car windows from fogging up, ensuring clear visibility for the driver and passengers and safe driving.
