The cabin air filter in the 2018 Malibu is located behind the glove compartment on the passenger side. Before removal, you need to take out the glove compartment, after which you can see the exact position of the cabin air filter. The filter tends to accumulate a lot of dust, which can be blown away using compressed air or similar methods. Never wash it with water, as this can easily damage it. The 2018 Malibu has dimensions of 4855mm in length, 1854mm in width, and 1476mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2737mm. It features front-wheel drive, a unibody construction, MacPherson strut front suspension, and multi-link independent rear suspension.
I've been driving a 2018 Malibu for three years and often change the cabin air filter myself. It's located behind the glove compartment on the passenger side. You need to open the glove box, squat down and look inside. There are two retaining clips on both sides of the glove box - just squeeze them toward the center with some force to remove the glove box. Inside, you'll see a rectangular plastic cover. Press the clip gently to open it, and the filter is inside. Pay attention to the arrow direction when pulling it out, as it indicates the airflow direction. Make sure to align the arrow when installing the new one. Don't cheap out on low-quality filters - activated carbon ones work better and can filter PM2.5. Especially now in summer when we use AC more frequently, I change mine every six months.
