Where is the cabin air filter located in a Jeep Cherokee?

The air filter in the Cherokee is located on the right side of the engine compartment. To replace the cabin air filter, follow these steps: 1. Open the engine hood and locate the air filter housing. Identify the six screws securing it; 2. Gently release the two clips holding the housing cover, then lift the entire air filter cover. Note: Some models may have screw-fastened covers requiring a screwdriver for removal; 3. Remove the old air filter carefully to prevent debris from falling into the housing. Use a vacuum cleaner if dust is present; 4. The cabin air filter is installed behind the glove compartment. First open the glove box lid; 5. Locate the retaining clip on the right side of the glove box and pull it outward firmly; 6. Squeeze both sides of the glove box inward simultaneously to remove it; 7. Install the new air filter, replace the housing cover, and secure the clips.
I've been driving a Jeep Cherokee for a while, and the location of the cabin air filter is very user-friendly, right behind the glove box. Specifically, you sit in the passenger seat, open the front glove box, and after the glove box is opened, you'll see plastic clips or small screws on both the left and right sides. No special tools are needed; just gently squeeze or unscrew them by hand to completely lower the glove box. At this point, a rectangular filter slot is revealed, with the filter embedded inside. To replace it, simply remove the old one and insert the new one, making sure the arrow on the new filter points in the direction of airflow (usually toward the front of the car). Doing it yourself is quite simple and costs only a few dozen yuan, saving hundreds compared to going to a 4S shop. It's recommended to replace it every 10,000 kilometers or once a year because when the filter accumulates dust, the air conditioning airflow will decrease, and it can easily breed bacteria, affecting the air quality inside the car. If not replaced regularly, there may be odors or dust flying inside the car, which can be harmful to health. This is one of the Cherokee's advantages—the design of its location facilitates daily maintenance.
