The location of the cabin air filter in a BMW X1 varies depending on the model year. In older X1 models, it is located in the engine compartment beneath the wipers, while in another version of the X1, it is situated behind the side panel near the left foot of the front passenger seat. The steps for replacing the cabin air filter are as follows: 1. Open the hood and lay out the three-piece fender protection mat; 2. Prepare an air gun to clean the dust around the cabin air filter; 3. Remove the cabin air filter cover, placing the screws in a weakly magnetic tray; 4. Take off the cabin air filter cover and remove the old cabin air filter; 5. Install the new cabin air filter into the cabin air filter frame; 6. After placing the new cabin air filter back into position, reinstall the cabin air filter cover; 7. Tighten the screws in sequence, reattach the sealing strip, and press it firmly; 8. Close the hood to complete the process.
