The body control module of the Jeep Renegade is located on the left side of the steering column under the left side of the instrument panel, beneath a plastic cover. Logic mode management function: The BCM has a logic mode management function. When activated, some electrical loads can be turned off. The logic mode can be deactivated through the diagnostic equipment by selecting the "Command" item in the BCM's "Other Functions" menu. Alternatively, this function can also be deactivated through a manual procedure. Diagnostic function: The BCM's diagnostic function is located in the "Other Functions" menu of the BCM. When the ignition switch is turned to the "ON" position, the BCM performs a vehicle configuration check using the PROXY file. The BCM sends a PROXY configuration code to all PROXY-configured modules on the network. The PROXY-configured modules will then send their own configuration codes, which the BCM compares. If a code mismatch is found, the BCM will set a fault code. If the fault code persists for 3 ignition cycles, the BCM will send a signal to the instrument cluster to make the odometer flash.
