Body control module is generally installed in the glove box, and the module has two connectors. Function of the automobile engine control module: The automobile engine control module is the core of the engine control components. According to the input information from various sensors, it controls the engine fuel injection and ignition timing, and provides the best control instructions for other output devices. ECM detection: The ECM detects its own faults, various sensors and actuators, serial data lines, and the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) circuit. When a fault is detected, the ECM records the corresponding fault code and takes relevant measures. Engine control calibration program cannot be replaced: The engine control calibration program is stored in an electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM), which is a permanent memory soldered onto the ECM and cannot be replaced separately.
Last time I had my car repaired, I noticed the body control module was quite hidden. Generally, it's tucked under the dashboard on the driver's side, sometimes behind the knee panel in front of the driver. However, cars like the Ford Focus hide it deep inside the glove compartment on the passenger side, while models such as the Toyota Corolla may place it on the side of the trunk. This small black rectangular box is connected to a dense bundle of wires and is responsible for controlling functions like power windows and central locking. Last time, my neighbor accidentally broke the clips while removing the panel by himself, so I recommend checking the vehicle manual to confirm its location before attempting any work.
