Where is the air filter located in a sedan?

The air filter in a sedan is located under the hood, connected to the engine via pipes on the side. Some car air filters are cylindrical in shape, hence also referred to as air filter cartridges. The method for replacing a car's air filter is as follows: 1. Open the hood and locate the air filter housing. The housing cover is secured with screws; use a screwdriver to loosen them. If it's fastened with clips, simply open it. 2. Remove the old air filter and clean the filter housing, wiping both the inside and outside with a clean cloth. 3. Install the new air filter, placing it back in its original position, paying attention to the correct orientation (front and back) of the filter. 4. Reattach the filter housing cover securely.
I usually do my own car repairs, and the air filter location is quite easy to find. In a sedan's engine bay, after opening the hood, you'll see a small plastic box, usually black or gray, near the engine air intake, typically on the left or right front side. Take my car for example—it's positioned right next to the radiator. I've replaced the air filter myself several times; a new one costs just a few dozen bucks. All you need is a screwdriver to loosen the box screws, remove the old filter, and install the new one, saving a lot of money compared to going to a repair shop. A dirty air filter affects engine airflow, making the car sluggish and increasing fuel consumption, so I check it every six months, especially in dry weather. If the location is hard to find, consult the owner's manual or search for a model-specific video tutorial—it's an easy fix to avoid issues.
