Luxgen's air conditioning filter is located behind the glove box on the passenger side. If you want to replace the air conditioning filter, you need to remove the glove box. The air conditioning filter is a type of filter installed in the car's air conditioning system, which can absorb dust particles, alleviate respiratory pain, reduce irritation for allergy sufferers, and protect the air conditioning cooling system. Luxgen's models include: the 7 SUV, U6 SUV, 5 Sedan, Luxgen URX, and 7 MPV. Taking the 2020 Luxgen URX as an example, it belongs to the compact SUV category, with body dimensions of: length 4725mm, width 1826mm, height 1765mm, a wheelbase of 2720mm, a fuel tank capacity of 55 liters, and a trunk capacity of 942 liters.

When I used to drive a Luxgen7 SUV, I changed the cabin air filter myself. It's usually hidden behind the glove compartment on the passenger side. First, empty the glove box, then feel along both inner sides to locate two plastic clips. Squeeze and press them inward to remove the entire glove box. Look toward the front of the vehicle, and you'll see a palm-sized plastic cover with small clips on the side—that's the filter housing. Pry open the cover to pull out the old filter, and remember to install the new one with the white side facing up. Last time I replaced it, I realized I'd installed the filter backward (the arrow was pointing the wrong way), and the AC stank for half a month—pay close attention to this detail.

The location of the Luxgen's cabin air filter is the same as most cars, above the passenger footwell. The operation requires some DIY skills: first remove the items from the glove box, squat down and look at the back of the box, find the limit snap on the rear side of the baffle, and use a screwdriver to release the buckle to make the entire glove box droop. Then you will see a rectangular cover with grilles, pry open the left buckle with a flat-head screwdriver to pull out the filter. It is recommended to prepare a T20 Torx bit to remove the cover screws, and remember to wear gloves to prevent scratches. Replacing it yourself can save about a hundred yuan in labor costs, but when reinstalling, make sure the glove box tracks are aligned.

From a design perspective, the air filter location is carefully considered. Luxgen places it on the passenger side to utilize the blower's airflow direction, allowing air to pass through the filter before entering the duct. This elevated position avoids mud splashes during rainy days and prevents moisture/mold formation. The glove compartment serving as an access point is clever - it protects the filter housing while enabling easy replacement. However, newer models like Luxgen U6 may require removing the glovebox lower trim panel, adding three extra steps compared to older versions.
