The air conditioning filter in the Laojunyue is located under the decorative panel beneath the right front wiper blade. Pull up the hood seal, and you will find a plastic clip. Remove the clip to pry open the decorative panel and take out the filter. Below is some relevant information: 1. Function of the air conditioning filter: This structure primarily serves to filter out fine impurities and dirt inside the vehicle, thereby providing a more comfortable and superior cabin environment. During operation, the engine requires a large amount of external air, which inevitably draws in impurities. The air conditioning filter helps to remove these impurities and microorganisms from the air. 2. Maintenance cycle for the air conditioning filter: Generally, the maintenance cycle for a car's air conditioning filter is every 20,000 kilometers or once a year. However, if the vehicle is frequently used in areas with severe smog, it is recommended to replace the filter as needed. Using an original activated carbon filter can provide better results. It is also advisable to replace the air conditioning filter at the start of spring and autumn each year, aligning with seasonal changes.
The cabin air filter in my old LaCrosse is located right behind the glove compartment on the passenger side. First, empty all items from the glove box, then press inward on both sides to release the glove box latches, allowing the entire glove box to fold downward. You'll then see a rectangular plastic cover inside, approximately 30 cm long, with several clips on it. Apply some force to unclip the cover and pull out the old filter. It's recommended to replace it twice a year, especially before/after spring when there's lots of willow catkins or during dusty autumn seasons. Last time I replaced it myself, I found the filter had turned completely black - after replacement, the AC odor reduced significantly and airflow became much smoother. Remember to wear gloves during the process, otherwise you'll end up with dusty hands which is quite unpleasant.
