Where is the ABS sensor located?

ABS sensor is located on the inner side of the car tire, which can be seen after lifting the car. The ABS system generally uses sensors to monitor the vehicle speed, and there are three types: linear wheel speed sensor, ring wheel speed sensor, and Hall wheel speed sensor. The linear wheel speed sensor mainly consists of permanent magnet, pole shaft, induction coil, and gear ring. The ring wheel speed sensor mainly consists of permanent magnet, induction coil, and gear ring. ABS can fully utilize the effectiveness of the brake during driving, shorten the braking time and distance; it can effectively prevent the car from skidding or tire lock-up during emergency braking; it can increase the stability of the car.
I've been driving for over twenty years, and the ABS sensor is installed near the wheel hub of each wheel, close to the brake disc. It's fixed on the hub bearing and has a small sensing head to detect wheel speed. Last time my car's ABS light came on, the mechanic found it was misaligned, causing unstable signals and system misjudgment. If the position is dirty or loose, the anti-lock function may fail. The importance of the ABS sensor lies in preventing wheel slippage and ensuring safety during emergency braking. Its position in the wheel hub area is well-designed to avoid external interference. During regular maintenance, check the inner side of the wheels and keep the area clean. I suggest car owners not overlook this small component—checking its position is simple, but professional handling is better.
