Lynk & Co has two factories in China. The first factory is the Volvo Taizhou Luqiao Plant, where the Lynk & Co 01 is produced. The second is the Zhangjiakou Plant, which manufactures the Lynk & Co 02 and 03. Lynk & Co is a joint venture automotive brand established by Geely Holding Group, Geely Auto Group, and Volvo Cars. The Taizhou Luqiao Plant is one of Volvo's three major vehicle production bases in China. The Lynk & Co 01 shares the same production facility as the Volvo XC40. The predecessor of the Lynk & Co Zhangjiakou Plant was Keyauto Large Parts Manufacturing (Zhangjiakou) Co., Ltd., part of Geely's Zhangjiakou vehicle project. Approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in 2015, the plant officially began construction with a total investment of 12.5 billion RMB. It was completed in 2017 with an annual production capacity of 200,000 vehicles. In August 2017, after Volvo Cars, Geely Holding, and Geely Auto jointly established the Lynk & Co joint venture company, the plant was transferred to Lynk & Co for producing the Lynk & Co 02 and 03 models. The Zhangjiakou Plant is a modern facility integrating automation, informatization, flexibility, and environmental sustainability. The welding workshop covers an area of approximately 48,000 square meters and features a KUKA flexible production line with 285 KUKA robots, achieving 100% automation in the main welding line. Laser welding is one of its technological highlights, with four laser measurement robots in the main welding process that can automatically identify vehicle models and perform comparative measurements according to relevant standards.
