Automobile brand Hongqi is from China, and its production location is in Changchun, Jilin. Hongqi is a high-end automobile brand directly operated by China FAW Group, managed by the headquarters of China FAW Group. In 1958, the Hongqi brand car was born and became the state car for national leaders and major national events. In the 1960s and 1970s, Hongqi cars became a banner of China's automobile industry. After the reform and opening up, while continuing to bear the important responsibility of "national car," Hongqi began to continuously impact the marketization and commercialization direction. Up to now, the models under the Hongqi brand on sale include: Hongqi HS5, Hongqi HS7, Hongqi EHS3, Hongqi H5, Hongqi H7, Hongqi H9, Hongqi L5, Hongqi E-QM5, Hongqi S9, Hongqi Shengshi, Hongqi Qijian, New Mingshi, and other models. Early models used the German 690V8 engine, later modified with the American 488 engine. Now, the Hongqi LS5 is equipped with a V12 engine independently developed by China FAW.
