Great Wall Haval is produced at the Xushui and Tianjin factories. The Haval brand, primarily focused on SUV models, operates in parallel with the Great Wall brand, utilizing independent logos, and separate systems for product development, production, and services, mainly engaged in SUV production and sales. Haval's vehicle lineup includes: M1, M2, M4, H1, H2, H3, H4, H5, H6, H7, H8, H9, known for their powerful and smooth performance, energy efficiency, environmental friendliness, quick cold starts, and low noise. Taking the Haval H6 as an example, its body dimensions are: 4600mm in length, 1860mm in width, and 1720mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2680mm. The Haval H6 is equipped with two engines: a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine and a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine. The 1.5-liter turbocharged engine, coded GW4B15A, delivers 169 horsepower and 285 Nm of torque, with maximum power at 5000 to 5600 rpm and peak torque at 1400 to 3000 rpm. The 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, coded GW4C20B, produces 224 horsepower and 385 Nm of torque, achieving maximum power at 5500 rpm and peak torque at 1600 to 3600 rpm.
As a long-haul truck driver, I often see car carriers transporting new Haval vehicles at highway service areas. These vehicles mostly originate from Great Wall Motors' hometown in Baoding, Hebei, especially the massive Xushui plant. I remember once resting at Baoding Logistics Park and hearing local drivers talk about how Great Wall started here in the 1990s. Now besides the Baoding assembly plant, they have production bases in Xushui, Tianjin, Chongqing Yongchuan, and Rizhao, Shandong. The Baoding factory mainly produces popular fuel models like the H6 and Big Dog, while Chongqing focuses on the Great Wall Cannon pickup trucks. Recently, I've noticed Rizhao factory exporting right-hand drive vehicles to South Africa!
I work in automotive parts quality inspection and have visited Great Wall's factories. Haval production is mainly at the headquarters campus in Baoding, Hebei, where their stamping workshop has German Schuler production lines with over 90% automation rate. The Xushui Second Plant is more advanced, specializing in models like the H6 and Shenshou from the Lemon platform, using KUKA robots for body welding and Dürr-designed painting lines. The particularly unique one is the Yongchuan base in Chongqing, dedicated to pickup trucks and off-road vehicles like the Tank 300. I heard the Changzhou plant started producing new energy vehicles last year. Currently, Haval operates on a specialized production model across different bases.
