I've been driving trucks for over a decade and have seen plenty of Chaoyang engines. My hometown is in Liaoning's Chaoyang city where they have quite large production facilities. It's under the Dongfeng Group umbrella, specializing in light-to-medium diesel engines. The old industrial base in Northeast China has solid foundations, with many heavy trucks and construction vehicles using them. Once at a service station replacing parts, I noticed the nameplate engraved with 'Made in Chaoyang'. Actually, besides supplying complete vehicle manufacturers, many repair shops can independently order machines assembled with genuine factory engines.

Chaochai is actually the short name for Dongfeng Chaoyang Diesel Engine Company, with its factory located in Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province. According to a recent logistics news report, their annual production capacity exceeds 200,000 units. The engine models are divided into multiple series, such as the CY4 series for light-duty engines and CY6 for medium-duty ones. Although the name suggests a northeastern origin, they have numerous service centers nationwide. I've seen whole crates of new engines shipped from Chaoyang at a service station in Shandong. That's the advantage of large enterprises – they have extensive supply chains.

Produced in Chaoyang, Liaoning, located in Longcheng District on the map. I've visited their key component casting workshop, and the fully automated production line is quite advanced. They specialize in diesel engines ranging from the 490 to 6100 series, used in loaders, tractors, and generator sets. A little-known fact: some agricultural machinery exported to Africa specifically chooses Chaochai engines for their excellent high-temperature resistance.
