Acura's production base in China is located at the Guangzhou Zengcheng factory. Its models include: Acura RDX, Acura CDX, Acura NSX, Acura TLX, Acura TL, and others. Taking the 2020 Acura RDX as an example, it belongs to the mid-size SUV category, with body dimensions of: length 4752mm, width 1926mm, height 1668mm, a wheelbase of 2750mm, a fuel tank capacity of 65L, and a trunk capacity of 660L. The 2020 Acura RDX is equipped with a 2.0T turbocharged engine, delivering a maximum horsepower of 265PS, a maximum power of 195kW, and a maximum torque of 380Nm, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
I previously followed the situation of Acura's domestically produced vehicles and remember they were all manufactured in Guangzhou. GAC Honda has a massive production base in Zengcheng, which my friend visited and mentioned is specifically dedicated to producing Acura models like the CDX and RDX. The factory uses Honda's global standard production lines with a high degree of automation. Actually, GAC Honda also has a factory in Wuhan, but it mainly produces Honda-branded vehicles, while Acura's domestically produced cars are primarily made at the Zengcheng plant in Guangzhou. Choosing Guangzhou makes a lot of sense given the well-established automotive industry chain and convenient logistics. Recently, I heard that Acura is adjusting its strategy in China, but the production base should remain unchanged.
