Zhangnan Expressway runs from Zhangjiajie to Nanchong. It is part of the national expressway network with the designation G5515, serving as a connecting route of the national G55 Erguang Expressway. This expressway was newly added in the 2013 National Highway Network Plan (2013-2030). The main control points along the Zhangnan Expressway include: Zhangjiajie, Laifeng, Qianjiang, Shizhu, Zhongxian, Liangping, Dazhu, Yingshan, and Nanchong. Expressways are multi-lane roads designed exclusively for motor vehicles, featuring separate directional lanes and full access control. The average annual daily traffic volume for expressways should ideally exceed 15,000 passenger car units, with design speeds ranging from 80 to 120 kilometers per hour.
