The Li-Ning Expressway runs from Liyang to Ningde and is one of the connecting routes of G40. The route starts from the Xinchang Hub in Liyang City, Jiangsu Province, connecting to the Yangli Expressway in the north. It passes through Langxi County, Guangde City, Ningguo City, Jixi County, and She County in Anhui Province; Chun'an County, Jiande City, Longyou County, Suichang County, Songyang County, Yunhe County, Jingning She Autonomous County, Wencheng County, and Taishun County in Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province; and Shouning County in Fujian Province, finally ending in Fu'an City, Fujian Province, connecting to the Ningshang Expressway in the south. On January 13, 2005, the Ministry of Transport of the People's Republic of China issued the China Expressway Network Plan and specified the numbering rules for national expressway trunk lines, regional ring roads, and branch lines.
