Where are the front parking radars installed on the TAYRON?

The TAYRON is equipped with 4 front parking radar probes. The two middle probes are installed 10 centimeters to the left and right of the license plate, facing directly forward. The left and right probes are installed at the corners of the vehicle, angled outward by 20 to 30 degrees. Purpose of parking radars: As the name suggests, parking radars are a safety assistive device used when parking, generally divided into front and rear radars. Their function is to detect and monitor obstacles in front of or behind the vehicle during parking or reversing, providing the driver with obstacle information to facilitate smooth parking or turning operations. When obstacles are near the vehicle, an alarm is triggered to alert the driver that the vehicle is about to collide with an obstacle. TAYRON: The TAYRON is a premium German mid-size SUV launched on October 22, 2018, by FAW-Volkswagen. It offers four powertrain options: 280TSI, 330TSI, 380TSI, and both front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive. As the second SUV model from FAW-Volkswagen following the compact SUV T-ROC, the TAYRON is positioned as a premium mid-size SUV targeting young consumers. In terms of styling design, driving dynamics, comfort, cutting-edge technology, space structure, and safety features, the TAYRON sets a new benchmark for the next generation of premium German mid-size SUVs.
As someone who frequently helps friends with car modifications, I've noticed that the Tayron's front parking sensors are typically embedded in the front bumper. Usually, there are 4 to 6 circular sensors neatly arranged in a row. The two in the center are responsible for detecting obstacles directly ahead, while the sensors closer to the sides have wider coverage angles, capable of detecting obstacles within a 45-degree range on either side of the front. The installation height is approximately 50 cm from the ground, which allows them to detect low obstacles like bollards without giving false alarms for ground slopes. I remember when I installed them for my neighbor last time, I specifically chose the factory-reserved positions for drilling holes, ensuring the bumper's internal brackets perfectly supported the radar modules. Some higher-end models come with them pre-installed from the factory, and their positions are even more precise. If you're adding them later, make sure to find a technician who understands wiring—they'll need to route the cables from the front wheel liners to the cabin and match the parameters with the vehicle's computer.
