Lynk & Co has two domestic factories in China. The first factory is Volvo's Taizhou Luqiao Plant, where the Lynk & Co 01 is produced. The second is the Zhangjiakou Plant, which manufactures the Lynk & Co 02 and 03 models. Lynk & Co is an automotive brand jointly established by Geely Holding Group, Geely Auto Group, and Volvo Cars. The Taizhou Luqiao Plant is one of Volvo's three major vehicle production bases in China. The Lynk & Co 01 shares the same factory with the Volvo XC40. The predecessor of the Lynk & Co Zhangjiakou Plant was Keyauto Large Parts Manufacturing (Zhangjiakou) Co., Ltd., part of Geely's Zhangjiakou vehicle project. After receiving approval from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in 2015, construction officially began with a total investment of 12.5 billion yuan. The plant was completed in 2017 with an annual production capacity of 200,000 vehicles. In August 2017, following the establishment of the Lynk & Co joint venture by Volvo Cars, Geely Holding, and Geely Auto, the plant was transferred under Lynk & Co and began producing the Lynk & Co 02 and 03 models. The Zhangjiakou Plant is a modern facility integrating automation, informatization, flexibility, and environmental sustainability. The welding workshop covers approximately 48,000 square meters and features a KUKA flexible production line with 285 KUKA robots, achieving 100% automation in the main welding line. Laser welding stands out as a technological highlight, with four laser measurement robots in the main welding process capable of automatically identifying vehicle models and performing comparative measurements according to corresponding standards.
I have studied cars for many years and know that Lynk & Co cars are primarily manufactured in China, with production bases concentrated in Ningbo, Zhejiang, and Hangzhou Bay, led by Geely Auto Group. These factories are equipped with modern production lines to ensure stable quality. Additionally, to cater to the European market, Lynk & Co has an assembly plant in Belgium, producing some export models. Chinese manufacturing locations are gaining increasing recognition in the global automotive industry. For example, Lynk & Co models have performed excellently in crash tests, achieving high safety ratings. I personally pay close attention to these details and believe that Geely has upgraded Chinese manufacturing to a global level, enabling more people to drive high-value-for-money cars. From design to craftsmanship, they are on par with international brands, supported by a strict quality control system. Since its launch in 2016, the brand has adhered to high standards.
