Where are Guangzhou Honda engines produced?

Most of Guangzhou Honda's vehicle models are equipped with engines produced by Dongfeng Honda Engine Company. Function of the engine: Converts the thermal energy of gasoline or diesel into mechanical energy by burning the fuel in a sealed cylinder to expand gases, which then push the pistons to perform work. Engine maintenance methods: Use qualified engine oil; use qualified coolant and antifreeze; regularly clean radiator scale; regularly remove engine carbon deposits; periodically replace the three automotive filters; maintain appropriate RPM, etc. Engine working principle: For normal operation, the engine must continuously inject fuel and ignite it—meaning each time the fuel injector sprays fuel, the spark plug must ignite it once. If the spark plug fails to ignite, the cylinder won't have a flame when the valve closes, preventing the gasoline from igniting and causing the engine to stall.
I think Guangzhou Honda engines are mainly produced locally in China, especially at the GAC Honda factory in Zengcheng District, Guangzhou. This factory is quite large and manufactures engines for various Honda models, such as the common 1.5T gasoline engines used in the Accord and CR-V. To ensure quality, Honda applies Japanese technical standards, but localization makes the engines more affordable and repair parts easier to find. As an automotive enthusiast, I've read reports that Honda partnered with GAC as early as 1998, choosing Guangzhou as the production site to be close to supply chains and consumer markets, which reduces import costs and transportation time. Many engines are now assembled here, including hybrid versions, with potential future expansion into more new energy sectors. However, it's worth noting that some high-end models or special components may still be imported from abroad. Overall, local production makes buying and maintaining cars more cost-effective, and I recommend checking model information to confirm the specific production location before purchasing.
