When will the China VI emission standards be implemented?

Currently, the country has divided the "China VI Standard" into two phases: "China VIa" and "China VIb", which will be uniformly implemented nationwide in 2020 and 2023 respectively. Here is an introduction to the China VI Standard: 1. The China VI Standard, also known as the "National Sixth Stage Emission Standards for Motor Vehicles", is established to implement environmental protection laws, reduce and prevent pollution from vehicle exhaust, protect the ecological environment, and ensure human health. 2. The China VI Standard was issued by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine on December 23, 2016, and June 22, 2018, respectively. The "Limits and Measurement Methods for Emissions from Heavy-Duty Diesel Vehicles (China VI)" came into effect on July 1, 2019. The implementation of the China VI Standard will impose stricter requirements on emissions such as carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, and hydrocarbons. 3. Based on past experience, when the China V Standard was implemented, vehicles meeting the China II Standard were phased out. Therefore, it is highly likely that vehicles meeting the China III Standard will also be phased out after the implementation of the China VI Standard. The timing of the phase-out will depend on national policies and the actual conditions of each region.
