Shanghai has implemented the China VI emission standards for light-duty vehicles registered (including those transferred from other provinces) in Shanghai since July 1, 2019. China VI is the sixth-stage national standard for vehicle pollutant emissions, established to prevent vehicle pollution and improve ambient air quality. 3. Under China 6a, the carbon monoxide emission limit for gasoline and diesel vehicles is 0.5g per kilometer, adopting the minimum limits of the China V standard. China 6b imposes stricter controls on nitrogen oxide emissions, significantly reducing the data compared to previous standards, while also setting limits on nitrogen dioxide emissions.
