Light-duty vehicle China VI policy will be implemented from July 1, 2020, and heavy-duty diesel vehicle China VI policy will be implemented from July 1, 2019. Hunan will implement China VI emission standards from July 1, 2019 in accordance with the national unified deployment. The following is an introduction to the China VI policy: 1. Released by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine on December 23, 2016 and June 22, 2018 respectively, the "Limits and Measurement Methods for Emissions from Light-Duty Vehicles (China VI)" will be implemented from July 1, 2020, and the "Limits and Measurement Methods for Emissions from Heavy-Duty Diesel Vehicles (China VI)" will be implemented from July 1, 2019. 2. To ensure that the automotive industry has sufficient preparation period for related vehicle model and powertrain change upgrades, as well as model development and production preparation, this China VI standard for light-duty vehicles adopts a step-by-step implementation approach, setting two emission limit schemes, China VIa and China VIb, which will be implemented in 2020 and 2023 respectively. 3. Meanwhile, key regions with special needs for atmospheric environmental management can implement China VI emission limits in advance. Currently, the industry production and fuel conditions for standard implementation have been preliminarily met. Many light-duty vehicle manufacturers have basically completed the development of prototype vehicles that meet the China VI standards for light-duty vehicles. The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine and the National Standards Committee have also approved and released the China VI standards for gasoline and diesel fuels during the same period.
