When to Use the Car's Eco Mode?

It is not recommended to use the Eco mode. Just stick to the standard mode and adjust your throttle input—press lightly or more firmly—based on different road conditions. Eco mode: It is more fuel-efficient, as it shifts gears more aggressively to maintain lower engine RPM. Reason: In stop-and-go city traffic, using Eco mode is not advisable because the car accelerates sluggishly in this mode, often becoming the slowest to start in the lane. To maintain traffic flow or keep up with the car ahead without being cut off, you may need to press the accelerator more firmly. However, doing so in Eco mode only leads to frequent gear shifts without actually reducing fuel consumption. Additionally, this mode can exacerbate carbon buildup, as maintaining low RPM for extended periods worsens the issue.
I drive to and from work in the city every day, and the traffic is always congested. This is when the Eco mode is most suitable. The engine automatically adjusts, and the throttle response is a bit slower, but it saves a lot on fuel costs. By the end of the month, I can save one or two hundred yuan. Moreover, it reduces emissions, which is better for the environment. With so many cars and slow speeds in the city, the Eco mode is particularly handy—it's effortless and helps me relax while driving. If I encounter a road with many red lights, the system automatically optimizes the gear shifts for smooth driving without any jerks. Using it long-term also reduces wear and tear on the car since the engine load is lower. Of course, if the traffic is extremely heavy, there might be insufficient power, but you can't drive fast in such conditions anyway.
