When the fuel pump is broken, should the pump core or the entire assembly be replaced?

When the fuel pump is broken, it is recommended to replace the entire assembly because the quality of replacing just the pump core cannot be guaranteed, and this is a very important component. The fuel pump is damaged mainly because the fuel filter has not been replaced for a long time, leading to severe blockage in the fuel supply system. This causes the fuel pump to work harder and remain in a high-load state for an extended period, ultimately resulting in its failure. The fuel pump is the component that draws gasoline from the fuel tank and delivers it through the pipelines and fuel filter to the float chamber of the carburetor. It is precisely because of the fuel pump that the fuel tank can be placed in the rear of the car, far from the engine, and positioned lower than the engine. Fuel pumps can be divided into two types based on their driving methods: mechanically driven diaphragm type and electrically driven type.
