2021 Spring Festival highway toll-free period is from 00:00 on February 11 to 24:00 on February 17, totaling 7 days. Here is the relevant information: According to the "Implementation Plan for Exempting Toll Fees for Small Passenger Vehicles on Major Holidays" issued by the state, the highway toll-free period applies to four national statutory holidays: Spring Festival, Qingming Festival, Labor Day, and National Day, as well as the consecutive holidays determined by the State Council for these statutory holidays. The free period starts at 00:00 on the first day of the holiday and ends at 24:00 on the last day of the holiday.
I help my friends check the Spring Festival expressway toll-free policy every year. In 2024, it starts from New Year's Eve, specifically from 00:00 on February 9th. The last free period ends at 24:00 on February 17th, remember it's the eighth day of the lunar new year at midnight! Note that the free toll is based on the time when the vehicle exits the expressway. Even if you enter the expressway at 11 PM on the eighth day, as long as you exit before midnight, it's still free. The return peak days are particularly prone to traffic jams. If you want to save on tolls but are afraid of congestion, it's recommended to depart on the afternoon of the seventh day or early morning of the eighth day. This policy applies to passenger vehicles with 7 seats or fewer; trucks like pickups are not eligible. There might be about half an hour of discrepancy when implemented at various toll stations, so it's best not to exit the expressway at the last few minutes.
