Chengdu implemented the National VI emission standard on July 1, 2019. The State Council announced that key regions, the Pearl River Delta region, and the Chengdu-Chongqing region would implement the National VI standard on July 1, 2019, while other regions would implement it from July 1, 2020. More details are as follows: 1. Article 4, Section 15 of the "Three-Year Action Plan for Winning the Blue Sky Defense Battle" issued by the State Council clearly stipulates that the National VI emission standard would be implemented in advance in key regions, the Pearl River Delta region, and the Chengdu-Chongqing region starting from July 1, 2019. The promotion and use of gas vehicles meeting the National VI emission standard were encouraged. 2. Fifteen provinces and municipalities across the country successively issued documents to implement the National VI emission standard in advance in 2019, meaning that only vehicles meeting the National VI standard could be registered starting from July 1, 2019. 3. After the implementation of the National VI emission standard, all vehicles sold and registered must meet the requirements of the National VI standard. Vehicles below this emission standard will be prohibited from being sold, registered, or transferred. National IV and National V emission vehicles can only be scrapped or relocated to regions where the National VI standard has not yet been implemented.
