Vehicles manufactured from July 1, 2008, are considered as China III standard. Below is an introduction to the China III standard: 1. Concept: Starting from July 1, 2008, all vehicles with a maximum total mass ≤3500Kg began to implement the "China III standard." 2. Emission standards: HC emission value is below 0.2g/km, CO emission value is below 2.3g/km, NOx emission value is below 0.15g/km, with no PM requirement. 3. Main pollutants in vehicle exhaust emissions: (1) Carbon monoxide: Vehicle exhaust contains carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, and other solid particles that have adverse effects on human health, especially leaded gasoline, which is more harmful to humans. (2) Hydrocarbons and nitrogen oxides: Gasoline mainly consists of carbon and hydrogen. When gasoline burns normally, it produces carbon dioxide, water vapor, and excess oxygen. However, due to impurities and additives in the fuel, and often incomplete combustion, some harmful substances are emitted.
