A2 driver's license permits the operation of tractor-trailers. Holders of a valid A2 license issued by China's public security traffic management authorities can drive heavy and medium-duty full trailers and semi-trailers, as well as vehicles permitted under B1, B2, C1, C2, C3, C4, C6, and M licenses. Details are as follows: B1 license: Permits driving medium-sized passenger vehicles not exceeding 6 meters in length, with a seating capacity of 10 to 19 passengers. B2 license: Permits driving heavy and medium-duty trucks or large, medium, and heavy-duty specialized operation vehicles, commonly known as cargo trucks on the road. C1 license: Permits driving small and mini passenger vehicles, as well as light and mini cargo vehicles, and light, small, and mini specialized operation vehicles. C2 license: Permits driving small and mini automatic transmission passenger vehicles, as well as light and mini automatic transmission cargo vehicles. C3 license: Permits driving low-speed cargo vehicles. C5 license: Permits driving small automatic transmission passenger vehicles specially designed for disabled individuals. C6 license: Permits driving light trailer vehicles. M license: Permits driving wheeled self-propelled machinery. Since an A2 license can only be obtained through an upgrade, the prerequisite for obtaining an A2 license is holding a B1 or B2 license. A B2 license can be applied for when initially obtaining a driver's license, but the applicant must be at least 20 years old. A B1 license requires an upgrade from a C1 license. After meeting the corresponding conditions for upgrading to an A2 license, applicants can submit their documents to the traffic management office. Upon passing the physical examination and other reviews, they can enroll in a driving school for training.
