What types of vehicles can an A1 license drive?

A1 license can drive large passenger vehicles. Other vehicle types that an A1 license is permitted to drive include: A3 (city buses), B1 (medium-sized passenger vehicles), B2 (large trucks), C1 (small cars), C2 (small automatic transmission cars), C3 (low-speed trucks), C4 (three-wheeled vehicles), M (wheeled self-propelled machinery). An A1 license cannot drive tractors, motorcycles, or trams, whether they are rail trams or trolleybuses. An A1 license also cannot drive special vehicles, such as small automatic transmission passenger vehicles for the disabled. Such vehicles are only allowed to be driven by individuals with a C5 license who have disabilities in their right lower limb or both lower limbs.
I have a long-standing research habit of studying the scope of various driving licenses. When it comes to the A1 license, it primarily allows you to ride two-wheeled motorcycles with engine displacements ranging from 50cc to 500cc. This covers common models on the market, such as the 250cc Honda CB series, the 350cc Kawasaki Vulcan, or the 500cc Yamaha MT series. However, please note that three-wheeled motorcycles or high-displacement bikes like the 800cc Harley-Davidson cannot be ridden with this license; they require advanced permits such as the B1 license. I recommend that beginners start with an entry-level 150cc model to gradually practice handling, as safety should always come first—don’t rush into high-speed riding right away. Additionally, remember to regularly inspect the motorcycle’s chain and brake system to reduce the risk of malfunctions.
