Driver's license C3 allows driving low-speed trucks, three-wheeled vehicles, and vehicles for disabled people. Low-speed trucks, originally known as four-wheel agricultural transport vehicles or light-duty trucks, are powered by diesel engines with a maximum design speed of ≤70km/h, a maximum design gross mass of ≤4500kg, length ≤2m, width ≤6m, height ≤2.5m, and have four wheels. Three-wheeled vehicles are a type of cargo truck with a railed loading section and three wheels. Powered by small diesel engines, they are mainly used for goods transportation and are registered under tractor license plates. C3 driver's license application process: Applicants bring their original ID card and a copy to the driving school registration point to register and wait for the theoretical study schedule; Carry the student card and notice issued by the driving school for a 2-day theoretical study; Before the official exam for Subject 1, applicants can practice test questions or take simulation exams at the driving school to fully prepare before the actual exam; After passing Subject 1, applicants can proceed to Subject 2 training. Only after passing Subject 2 can they schedule the Subject 3 exam; Subject 4 exam mainly tests knowledge of safe and civilized driving. After passing Subject 3, applicants can schedule the Subject 4 exam; After passing all subjects, wait for 7 days to collect the driver's license from the driving school.

I remember when I was learning to drive, I chose the C3 driver's license mainly because it allows me to operate low-speed trucks, such as small trucks or agricultural vehicles, with a load capacity generally not exceeding 4.5 tons. I usually use this type of vehicle for transportation in the village, which is convenient for carrying goods like fertilizers or tools. However, it doesn't permit driving cars or buses—that requires a C1 license. When driving these vehicles, it's important to pay attention to road conditions. Their low-speed design makes them safer on rural roads, but they can be problematic on highways. If you want to upgrade to a C1 or higher license, you'll need to retake the test. Overall, the C3 license is quite practical, especially for someone like me running a small business, as it helps save time and costs.

Having been an instructor at the driving test center for so many years, I often emphasize the limitations of the C3 driver's license. The vehicles it allows you to drive are mainly low-speed trucks, defined as small trucks with low speed and light weight, such as some pickups or light trucks. Remember not to overload, otherwise you may easily be checked by traffic police. This type of license does not allow you to drive passenger vehicles, such as private cars or minivans. In actual operation, make sure the vehicle meets the standards, and it's best to check the permitted driving type on the license plate before driving. If you want to drive a wider range of vehicles, consider obtaining a C1 or B license for more flexibility. Safety first, choosing the right license can reduce the risk of accidents.

After obtaining my C3 driver's license, I drove a small delivery truck for several months making urban deliveries. This license is specifically designed for low-speed cargo vehicles, meaning you can only operate slow-moving vehicles weighing no more than 4.5 tons, such as small trucks or modified cargo vans. Driving cars or buses is prohibited and would be illegal. The driving experience is quite stable, but space is limited. I recommend beginners first understand their needs - if you frequently drive on highways, it's best to upgrade your license. Don't believe rumors; the C3 license is strictly for freight transportation.
