What types of engine oil can be used for Honda cars?

Guangqi Honda offers mineral oil, semi-synthetic oil, and full synthetic oil, all with an API rating of SM. While all three types can be used, Honda recommends different oils for different models. For example, the Odyssey can use 5W-30 mineral oil for economy or 5W-40 full synthetic oil for better lubrication. Dongfeng Honda also provides mineral oil, semi-synthetic oil, and full synthetic oil. During surveys, 4S shops recommended mineral oil for the CR-V 2.0L model, and semi-synthetic or full synthetic oil for the 2.4L model, with a viscosity of 5W-20. The Civic Platinum Core has a viscosity of 0W-30. For instance, the CR-V can operate under a wider range of temperatures and lubrication conditions. Guangqi Honda's approach may not apply to Dongfeng Honda. Why? Because Honda's maintenance cycle is set at 5,000 kilometers or every three months, requiring an oil filter change each time. Therefore, using semi-synthetic oil or higher is considered wasteful. As a result, most 4S shops will recommend mineral oil to owners.
