What type of oil should be used for the JAC Refine diesel 1.9T?

JAC Refine's specialized oil model specification indicates 5W30. For JAC Refine maintenance, 5W30 oil is recommended. In northern winters, it is advised to use 5W/30 or 5W/40 oil, while in summer, 10W or 15W oil is suggested. In southern regions, 10W oil can be used all year round. Composition of engine oil: Engine oil consists of two parts: base oil and additives. The base oil is the main component of lubricating oil, determining its basic properties. Additives can compensate for and improve the shortcomings of the base oil's performance, granting it new properties, making them an important part of lubricating oil. Explanation of oil grades: 10W-40 is its SAE standard viscosity value. This viscosity value first indicates that this oil is multi-grade oil. W stands for WINTER, and the number before W represents the flow performance at low temperatures. The smaller the number, the better the starting performance at low temperatures. The number after W represents the stability of the oil at high temperatures (i.e., the likelihood of thinning). The larger the number, the better the high-temperature stability of the oil.
During the years I drove the JAC Refine diesel 1.9T, I consistently used 15W-40 diesel-specific engine oil, and the results were outstanding. Cold starts in winter were smoother, and there was no overheating in summer. I tried cheaper alternatives a few times, but they caused increased engine noise and higher fuel consumption. Switching to fully synthetic versions from Mobil or Shell completely resolved these issues. I change the oil every 8,000 kilometers to prevent injector clogging and carbon buildup. Proper maintenance can extend the vehicle's lifespan by over a decade. With fuel prices being high now, I opt for cost-effective brands that ensure worry-free and economical long-distance driving. I also recommend regularly checking the oil level—don’t wait until the warning light comes on. The key to protecting a diesel engine is ensuring proper lubrication. Remember, never use gasoline engine oil, as the viscosity difference can affect the compression ratio.
