What type of oil does the Mazda3 Axela use?

For the Mazda3 Axela, it is recommended to use higher viscosity lubricants in summer, such as 15W-50, 15W-40, 20W-50, etc. In winter, lower viscosity lubricants should be chosen, such as 5W-40, 5W-30, or 10W-30, 10W-40, etc. Engine oil is referred to as the lifeblood of the engine, playing roles in lubrication, cleaning, sealing, heat dissipation, buffering, and rust prevention within the engine. Without engine oil, the engine simply cannot function properly. Before changing the oil, the vehicle's engine should be turned off for 30 minutes to allow the oil adhering to the cylinder walls to flow back into the oil pan, otherwise, residual oil may remain. The oil level needs to be checked, which can be observed using the oil dipstick. The first time the dipstick is pulled out, it should be wiped clean with a paper towel and reinserted before being pulled out again for inspection. The dipstick has two marks indicating the upper and lower limits; the oil level should be between these two marks for normal operation.
When I previously serviced my Mazda3 Axela, I specifically researched the engine oil specifications. Mazda officially recommends using 0W-20 viscosity oil, especially for Skyactiv-G engines which must use low-viscosity oil. The owner's manual clearly states that SP-grade full synthetic oil is required. My 1.5L naturally aspirated engine only needs 4.2 liters per oil change. In high-temperature summer regions, 5W-30 can be used as a transitional option, but never use high-viscosity oil as it will dramatically increase fuel consumption. Last time, a fellow car owner tried to save money by switching to 10W-40, and the engine immediately started sounding like a tractor. The key is to look for GF-6 or API SP certification - major brands like Idemitsu and Mobil have compatible formulations.
