What Type of Fuel Does Audi Use?

Audi vehicles require a minimum of 95-octane gasoline, while some high-performance Audi models require 98-octane gasoline. Different grades of gasoline have varying octane ratings; the higher the grade, the higher the octane rating. Gasoline with a higher octane rating also has better stability. Follow the Manufacturer's Fuel Requirements: When purchasing a vehicle, the manufacturer will clearly specify the type of gasoline suitable for the car, which depends on the engine's performance level. In other words, if a car designed for 95-octane fuel is filled with 92-octane, minor issues may arise, such as knocking, increased engine temperature, reduced power output, etc. Therefore, it is essential to strictly adhere to the manufacturer's fuel recommendations. Fueling Recommendations: It is recommended to only use gasoline additives approved by Audi. Anti-knock or detonation-preventing additives may contain metallic compounds, which can cause severe damage to the engine and exhaust catalytic converter. Since Audi vehicles are equipped with an exhaust catalytic converter, only unleaded gasoline should be used. The gasoline must at least meet the V standard (GB 17930-2016 or GB 18351-2015) and be sulfur-free. Fuels containing up to 10% ethanol (E10) are also permissible.
