What type of engine oil does the MG GT use?

The MG GT uses Castrol 5W-30 engine oil. The meaning of 5W30 oil: W stands for winter, and the smaller the number in front, the better the low-temperature fluidity of the oil, indicating lower temperatures and better protection capability for the oil. 5W means it can withstand external temperatures as low as -30 degrees Celsius. The number after W represents the kinematic viscosity of the oil at 100 degrees Celsius, with higher values indicating higher viscosity. Notes on adding engine oil: Each time the oil is changed, the Volkswagen Tayron requires 5.5 liters. In addition to choosing the right oil, owners should also pay attention to the oil level, ensuring it always stays within the range between the upper and lower limits on the dipstick. Falling below the lower limit or exceeding the upper limit can cause certain damage to the engine.
When I first bought the MG GT, I checked the manual which recommended using 5W-30 full synthetic oil because the turbocharged engine requires efficient lubrication to protect it. I'm used to changing the oil every 8,000 kilometers or every six months. In winter, it starts quickly without any hiccups, and in summer, I don't have to worry about thinning due to high temperatures. I use well-known brands like Mobil, which aren't expensive but offer stable performance. In fact, it can even improve fuel economy, saving money in the long run while keeping the engine clean and avoiding carbon buildup issues. Using the wrong oil, like mineral oil, could accelerate wear. When changing the oil, I also check the filter and oil level to save time on maintenance.
