What type of battery is used in the Passat hybrid?

The Passat hybrid uses a ternary lithium-ion battery. Ternary lithium-ion battery: A ternary lithium-ion battery refers to a lithium-ion battery that uses a ternary cathode material composed of lithium nickel cobalt manganese oxide (NCM) or lithium nickel cobalt aluminum oxide (NCA). The ternary composite cathode material is made from nickel salts, cobalt salts, and manganese salts as raw materials, and the ratio of nickel, cobalt, and manganese can be adjusted according to actual needs. Battery performance: This material offers a balanced performance in terms of capacity and safety, with better cycle performance compared to conventional lithium cobalt oxide. Initially, due to technical limitations, its nominal voltage was only 3.5-3.6V, which restricted its application range. However, with continuous improvements in formulation and structural optimization, the nominal voltage of the battery has now reached 3.7V.
