What transmission does the Mercedes-Benz C-Class AMG use?

Mercedes-Benz C-Class AMG uses a 9-speed automatic transmission with manual mode, namely the 9G-Tronic, which performs exceptionally well during driving. It shifts more actively while also reducing the vehicle's fuel consumption, allowing more consumers to experience the better driving experience brought by technological advancements. With reasonable design and matching, the increase in gear numbers can provide closer gear ratios and a wider gear ratio range. The design language of the new generation C-Class continues the styling of the S-Class and CLS, and the rear is no exception. The taillights are stretched longer horizontally and narrower vertically, giving a more stable and comfortable visual effect.
The current Mercedes-Benz C-Class AMG models are all equipped with the in-house AMG SPEEDSHIFT transmission, which is quite remarkable. Take the C63 I've driven for example - that 9-speed MCT transmission responds astonishingly fast, with gear changes as quick as lightning. Especially when switched to Sport+ mode, it downshifts decisively with every throttle press, accompanied by thrilling crackling exhaust pops. Unlike Mercedes' regular 9AT transmission, this one eliminates the torque converter and uses multi-plate clutches instead, resulting in extremely direct power delivery that makes the whole car feel supercharged. Another advantage is its durability - with regular transmission fluid changes, it can easily last over 100,000 miles without issues.
