What to Do When You Can't See the Corner of the Parking Space During Parallel Parking?

First, adjust the left rearview mirror. Lower the left rearview mirror to its lowest position so that you can see the left rear wheel of the car in the mirror. The left front door handle should be positioned at the middle (1/2) of the left rearview mirror, with the car body occupying one-third (1/3) of the mirror's width. The right rearview mirror should be adjusted in the same way as the left one.
In my over 20 years of driving, not being able to see the corner of the parking space during parallel parking has been a common issue. At such times, don't fixate on it. Instead, try estimating using the side of your car or the position of the tires. For example, adjust the right side mirror downward to directly observe the gap between the wheel and the curb—about half a meter is roughly right, then slowly reverse in. If there are other cars or markers next to the parking spot, they can serve as temporary reference points. In rainy weather or at night when visibility is poor, turn on the fog lights to illuminate the curb. With a few more practices, you'll get the hang of it. Stay calm, focus on one point at a time, and with persistence, you'll be able to manage it independently, saving yourself the awkwardness of always needing help.
