What to Do When Volkswagen Car Key Buttons Are Sunken?

Remove the outer shell of the remote key. Take out the small circuit board inside the key, paying attention to the car's buttons.
My Volkswagen key fob button also got dented once. I think it's better not to rush into fixing it to avoid damaging more components. Inside the key, there are small springs and plastic parts—the dent might be due to a stuck or broken spring. Gently pressing it can sometimes pop it back into place. If that doesn't work, you can try using a small screwdriver or paperclip to pry around the edges, but be very careful not to apply too much force, as you might scratch the circuit board. When disassembling the key, prepare a small container for the screws to avoid losing them. The button near the battery compartment is particularly vulnerable, so remove the battery before disassembly to prevent short circuits. It's advisable to press the buttons gently in daily use and avoid dropping or squeezing the key to extend its lifespan. If you really can't fix it yourself, take it to a professional car key shop—they have specialized tools and parts to handle it quickly, and the cost is usually just a few dozen yuan, which isn't expensive.
