What to Do When the Windshield Gets Blurry in Rain?

Press the front windshield defrost button, and outside air will enter the vehicle, with the air conditioning automatically selected. When this air distribution position is chosen, the recirculation mode cannot be selected. The blower speed and temperature control will operate automatically and cannot be manually adjusted, with the blower set to run at high speed.
Whenever the windshield gets foggy in the rain, I always turn on the defogging function of the air conditioning first. Most cars have that fan-shaped defog button – pressing it quickly dries the interior fog on the glass. Don’t forget to check the wipers; if they don’t clear the rainwater properly, it might be due to worn rubber blades or too much dirt. Replacing them or cleaning the glass with a glass cleaner can make a big difference. On humid days, try to keep the windows closed to minimize moisture inside the car. After parking, briefly running the AC to cool down the interior can help prevent fogging. Regular windshield maintenance is also important, like deep cleaning every six months or applying a water-repellent coating, which ensures clearer visibility and reduces safety risks. When roads are slippery in the rain and visibility drops, I slow down or even pull over until the fog clears—after all, life is precious.
