What to Do When the Mercedes-Benz GLA Parking Brake Fails?
1 Answers
Manually wiggle the parking brake to check for loose fixing screws, deformed operating levers, or loose pivot pins, and make timely repairs and adjustments. If you hear a "swish, swish" friction sound and the brake drum surface feels hot after driving for a while, it indicates that the gap with the brake drum is too small. After pulling the parking brake lever to the braking position and releasing it, if it cannot stay fixed in the braking position, first press to release the lever head before inspection. Check if the operating lever is bent, stuck, or if the spring is broken. If no issues are found, immediately drive to an auto repair shop for servicing.
