What to Do When the Mazda6 Driver's Side Cannot Control the Passenger Side Window?

The driver's control switch is damaged, and the one-touch up/down function needs to be reset. Check if the window lock on the driver's side is engaged. If only the driver's side control button cannot operate the window while the other three windows' own control buttons work normally, simply lower the affected window fully using the driver's control button and hold it for 3 seconds. Then raise the window all the way up (fully lifting the switch) and hold for 3 seconds to reset the one-touch up/down function. If the window's own switch also fails to control it, there may be a wiring issue, requiring repair at a 4S shop or professional electrical repair shop.
My old Mazda6 also had a similar issue where the driver's side switch suddenly couldn't control the passenger window. First, check the passenger side window switch - if it works normally, it means the motor isn't faulty and the problem lies with the driver's control authority. Most likely, it's either aged contacts in the driver's switch assembly or a stuck passenger side independent switch causing signal conflicts. Try restarting the vehicle by disconnecting the battery - this might temporarily restore functionality. For those with DIY skills, you can remove the driver's door panel and use a multimeter to test the control circuit continuity. If you find an open circuit, it's likely poor contact in the switch module - replacing the entire switch assembly costs around 400 yuan. Remember to spray some WD-40 on the window regulator tracks during reassembly, and replace any aged rubber seals while you're at it.
