What to Do When the Car Door Handle Comes Off?

Weld the handle, and repainting is required. There is no need to replace the door. Take it to a car repair shop or 4S store for maintenance. Do not attempt to dismantle it yourself, as lack of experience may easily lead to damaging other components, which is not worth the loss.
Back then, my car door handle fell off the same way. At first, I thought it was a minor issue, but it turned out to be a broken internal clip. I immediately grabbed some tools to check if the screws were loose. If they weren't tight, I tried tightening them myself. If that didn't work, I temporarily fixed it with double-sided tape or electrical tape—at least enough to open the door. However, in the long run, it's better to replace the handle to avoid sudden malfunctions while driving, especially at night, which can be quite scary. For regular maintenance, remember to close the door gently and avoid yanking it, as plastic parts can age quickly. Replacing a new handle at a repair shop isn't expensive—just around a hundred bucks.
