What to Do When the Car Charging System Warning Light Comes On?

Pull the car over to the side of the road, turn off the engine, and switch off all electrical appliances and lights in the car to reduce battery consumption. If the drive belt is loose, tighten it, then start the engine. If the charging indicator light goes off, it means the issue is resolved. If the drive belt is broken or worn and slipping, replace it with a new one. If the charging indicator light remains on after addressing the generator belt issue, proceed to the next step. Check if any wires are loose, causing poor contact. Most modern cars use alternators, with the voltage regulator housed inside the generator casing.
